The working day is generally 8am or 8.30am to 5pm. That’s 7.5 or 8 hours per day, 37.5 or 40 hours per week.

There are ten provinces and three territories in Canada covering six different standard time zones, many of which also change for Daylight Savings Time.

Once you create your account and onboard your worker in Canada, you will be able to view their statutory holiday leave allowance, or the allowance you offered if higher, the public holidays for Canada and other leave allowances such as sick, maternity, paternity and parental leaves.

Statutory holidays in Canada vary across the provinces and territories however there five nationwide public holidays and eight regionally observed holidays that count towards a workers statutory leave entitlement.

There are other commemorative days in Canada, but they are not considered statutory, and therefore not civic days that require paid leave or a holiday day in lieu.

Letting your worker in Canada go.

Whether your worker doesn’t meet your expectations or the project they’re working on comes to conclusion, letting someone go needn’t be complicated. In Canada you are required to give your worker two weeks written notice of termination or two weeks pay.
